The one on the left, a DKW Munga.
Powered by one of these (indeed this very one), a DKW three cylinder two stroke with its Auto Union rings proudly displayed.
The Munga was made in quite large numbers and had a reputation for ruggedness, but not with the Dutch Army who found them unsatisfactory and went back to using its predecessor, a Jeep which they had kept in storage.
This one is one of their rejects.
The Munga evolved into the rather less common VW Iltis whose 4wd system made the Audi Quattro a Quattro.

Was going to say it looks like an Iltis - we used to get a couple at the vw shows in Edmonton because the base was nearby;
